I was asked to show more cat hair sculptures, so I have! The toothpick in the image is for size comparison.
The top one is a sculpture I made for my mom for her birthday a few years ago. The cat is splayed out because he's tired of puking - my cat Furby (who generously donates his hair ) has a notoriously weak stomach. It's the product of an inside joke. The eyes are googly eyes and the nose is a carved pink eraser.
The second one my mom made for my birthday in 2007. She sculpted a cat puking a hairball as a gift - yet another inside joke. She went another step by adding sculpey to the figure. The spiral carpet, nose, and eyes are sculpey and the whiskers are cut fishing line.
The third is my favorite - the cat hair peep. It's an easter gift my mom made me in 2007. We hate those sugary treats so this happened...the feet, beak, and eyes are sculpey. This particular sculpture is made extremely well. The fur is compacted so tight it's hard as a rock!
Yes it's sanitary. Our cats are very clean and don't have dirt or germs on them. In fact, clay and cat hair have similar sanitary issues. Clay can create dust, cat hair can spread the fur, clay is messy to the hands, the glue used for cat hair can do the same. The only difference is that cat hair can't be inhaled as easily. I probably eat enough cat hair it wouldn't bother me anyway.

I understand the theory of evolution. I also understand, that at a certain point in human evolution, something went horribly horribly wrong.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
